Week on, Week off schedule

I would like to create a rotation schedule that is only active on alternate weeks.Week 1 : Person 1Week 2 : InactiveWeek 3 : Person 2Week 4 : InactiveI can easily create gaps inside of a week using restrictions, so this would be easy to do:1st Half of Week 1 : Person 12nd Half of Week 1: Inactive1st Half of Week 2: Person 22nd Half of Week 2: InactiveBut I cant figure out Week On, Week Off. Is there a way other than restrictions I’m missing?(I realize I could add a dummy account to fill in for the inactive weeks, I would prefer not to do that)

Managing Alert Routing in Prometheus rules with PagerDuty Using Labels for Different Teams

 Hello everyone,I am facing a challenge with setting up alert routing for Kubernetes clusters using Prometheus and PagerDuty, and I wanted to seek your advice or suggestions on how to solve this. ### Problem:We are currently using Prometheus rules to trigger alerts and send them to PagerDuty (PD) for our Kubernetes clusters. At the moment, all our alerts are routed to a single PagerDuty service. Now, we need to separate these alerts based on labels in the Prometheus rules to ensure they are handled by different teams. Specifically:- We want to route alerts for different teams based on labels defined in the Prometheus alerting rules.- Each team should have its own escalation policy within PagerDuty, but we must keep using a single PagerDuty service.- Unfortunately, we can't use the **AI Ops feature of PagerDuty** to help with this segregation. ### Example:We have two teams, **Team A** and **Team B**. Alerts for these teams should be routed based on a label in the Prometheus alert rules.

New User - What is the best way to trigger scripts as part of an escalation policy / workflow?

Event Orchestration - Notify after X number of Alerts?

Our use case seems to be the opposite of what PagerDuty currently supports.   I know we can use the Dedup Key to merge alerts into an already open incident and help with grouping alerts.     However our use case is to not send a notification unless we have received X number of alerts in Y time.       What we see is that a run will fail, but the next run in 15 mins is successful, so our on-call person is getting paged and then resolving the ticket because the next run was successful.    Would be good to not page the On-call person unless the next run also fails.    But haven’t seen how to handle this in PD.  The Auto-Resolve doesn’t work in our case because they are individual alerts - from seperate runs of a pipeline - the dedup key is what links them. Has anyone dealt with a use case like this?   Have you been able to solve it?

Use Service Dependency to Disable Alerts

We have a use case that looks to not be supported by PagerDuty, wondering if anyone has a way to implement this scenario.Our pipelines are dependent on 3rd party APIs.    When there is schedule maintenance of an API, we would like to be able to disable all alerts related to pipelines that are dependent on that API.     I have looked into setting up the API as a dependent service, but it doesn’t look like I can do anything with this linkage to suppress alerts.

ServiceNow Priority sometimes missing

We’ve recently upgraded to the newest version of the PagerDuty integration in ServiceNow.Now what we are finding is that sometime, the priority is not added to the ServiceNow incident that is raised. Most of the time things work fine. But sometimes, an incident is created with no priority.Most days we get one or two. Some days we get 50+.I can see no pattern to what’s going on. Times are random. Counts appear random, and most of the time it works fine.I’ve enabled debugging on PagerDuty, even added a few logs in myself, but I’m not able to see any actually issues.Has anyone come across this? Does anyone have an ideas on how I might move things forward?

Duplicate incidents created by pagerduty while creating incident in PD from SNOW

We have upgraded to Webhook3 and have all intergrations intact howevee still we have observed duplicate incidents created by PD in SNOW. Please advise if this is known issue.

Slack integration to auto update an alias

Hi there, new around here with a quick question. I’m trying to set up automation so as on-call changes week by week it can automatically update a Slack workspaces @oncall-team alias. IE: Person A and Person B. Week 1 Person A is on call the @oncall-team maps to Person A. Week 2, Person B becomes oncall and @oncall-team alias automatically updates to Person B. Any tips? ChatGPT didn’t bring up anything fruitful.

iOS 18 Custom Notification Sound

Hey everyone, I was just wondering if there's a way to set a customized notification sound for an alert with iOS 18 in the Pagerduty app itself.  The only options available are either the built-in notification sounds that Pagerduty offers, or choosing the “iOS Tones” folder - but this folder does not show the custom notification/ringtone sounds that I’ve setup in iOS itself.  There is also no way to change the app’s notification sounds from the iOS Settings app, I can only toggle sounds on or off as a blanket option.  Just wondering if this is possible or maybe on the roadmap for the future, as it seems like older versions of the app supported this (as does the Android app). In the first two screenshots, this is all we have to choose from - the stock Pagerduty sounds or the iOS tones folder.  In my third screenshot, iOS Settings app doesn't offer any options except sounds on or off.  In my last screenshot, I already have custom sounds working in iOS Settings, but they still aren't avai

Archiving false alerts?

Occasionally we’ll see false alarms in PagerDuty due to an upstream issue coming from Splunk or New Relic. These are alerts that fired due to testing, maintenance, or some other event that we don’t want to “count” as real production incidents. I don’t see an ability in the tool to archive/hide/etc. these events so that they don’t clutter up our reporting & analytics.  Anyone else have a solution or approach to manage these?

Do I have any control at all over how email notifications sent by the events API display details?

I’m not talking about the email integration, I’m using the Events API with a global orchestration and I’m not using AI Ops.The email notifications sent are a problem. In the app the “details” json is nicely displayed, but in emails the entire details field is crammed together in one text string.Can I fix this? PD is sending html emails, why can’t it format the details field nice like in the app?I have users that want to use email as their notification channel without using the app. The details section in the emails is practically unreadable.I can’t find any settings or docs about making the details section in emails look better.

How do I add a custom field when sending events with the PagerDuty Events API?

I want to create a custom field and add it to events I create with the events API: https://support.pagerduty.com/main/docs/custom-fields-on-incidents. I'm not using orchestration.I'm using the events API and I see no option for custom fields: https://developer.pagerduty.com/api-reference/368ae3d938c9e-send-an-event-to-pager-dutyI want to use this custom field to add info to the PD incidents when they are generated for users to see so it can't happen after the incident is create from the event.If I have to make multiple API calls to create an event, get the incident that the event generated, then update the incident with a custom field it will have no utility for me. Updating Schedule via API does not change final schedule calendar view

Hi, I have written an API script that gets and updates a schedule (+ schedule layers) . The goal was to update the start date of a layer to the next year. I get a successful response, and I can see the changes worked as expected in the edit this schedule view. However, looking at the calendar view for the schedule and the configuration layer view, it does not seem like it rendered those changes. Is there another step to the process that I am missing to update those?

Error when subscribing to iCal

Hi, when trying to subscribe to one Pager Duty schedule, from Confluence, I’m getting the error: “Specified calendar does not exist. Possible problems: Check that the Calendar URL you provided exists and you have the correct permissions to access it.”I can’t find any settings which may have impacted this.

Direct link to specific team oncall schedule

For groups who don’t use PD, hence don’t have login to PD, but need to lookup who is oncall for a particular team, is there a url that can be given to them to view the schedule for a team? Or if a team who has an oncall schedule and want to provide a link to someone so they can see who is oncall, is that possible?

I'm not getting phone calls from PagerDuty

Hi everyone! Simply ı’m not getting phone calls from pagerduty. When ı’m on-call ı only get application notifications. My contact informations are corrrect and my first on-call periods ı was getting phone calls and after sometimes ı started to not getting phone calls. Thanks for helping!

Mule 4 - Workday connector

i’m wanting to get employee data from Workday such as when a new hire happens, employee terms, or just an update to employee record. I’m using the HR workday connector from Workday and I believe that I configured the connector correctly, but i’m still getting a 500 error. Are there any suggestions to get my connection working?

Active API Token Reporting.

Hello Pagerduty Community,I’m looking for a way to generate a list of all active API keys so I can correlate it with audit logs we have in our SIEM showing when the last usage of the key was. Is there a way to generate a regular report of this data or interface with the API to get this data? We have quite a few enabled keys in our environment that we likely don’t need and I would love to get a notification when an API key hasn’t been used for X amount of days and is still enabled in Pagerduty. Thanks in advance! Gavin

Show On Call User in AboutCard on Backstage

I’m using the pagerduty plugin in backstage and would like to add a section in the AboutCard for entities that just shows the person who is currently on call. I’ve tried using the PagerDutyEntitySmallCard, but it’s still a bit too big for me. Is there a way I could perhaps directly call the PagerDuty Api and get this information to give to the AboutCard? Or is there an easier way to go about this?

backstage plugin example request (as I'm facing issues)

Hello!Below is what I’m i’m being faced with, however if there’s simply a link to any example app configs to make sure I’m not doing anything daft, then I’m happy to start there.I’m presently trying to get the plugin working on a local test I have set up in the hopes we can use it on our production system. I’ve followed the guides in the documentation, going down the events API v2 route however I’m getting the following errors[1] 2024-09-12T13:08:40.054Z pagerduty warn No PagerDuty accounts configuration found in config file. Implementing complete PD configuration via Terraform

In the configuration as code space, I’m building infra structure as code and configuration that will manage and control our config in PD (as much as possible).  The main driver is to manage the configuration of this critical piece of operations more securely and without the human-in-the-loop ClickOps via the PD portal.I’m running into trouble using the PagerDuty Terraform provider when you use it to create multiple  PD resources (users, services, schedules,etc) in bulk (i.e. using for-each in the terraform resource)We get failures back from the PD provider along the lines of:│ Error: Provider produced inconsistent result after apply││ When applying changes to│ pagerduty_user.service_users["<redacted>@<email>"], provider│ "provider[\"registry.terraform.io/pagerduty/pagerduty\"]" produced an│ unexpected new value: Root object was present, but now absent.││ This is a bug in the provider, which should be reported in the provider's│ own issue tracker.Question is - has anyone exp

Event Orchestration Nested Event Rule

Hi, I have setup an Event Orchestration, and I am sending an email to its integration email address. I route the event to the proper services based on conditions. Then in the service I have one rule which always triggers, and pulls information out of the message body and stores them in the event custom_details. I then have a second rule to the right (nested) which has a condition based on the enriched data. However, the rule never fires. Does the rules to the right have access to the event custom_data set by the previous rule?

Trying to adjust start of shift notifications in IOS app

Hello friends, I have a question that I have not been able to find the answer to, either by slogging through https://support.pagerduty.com/docs/mobile-app-settings or by clicking around the app and looking at every setting I can find. I also did a quick search here in the forum and couldn’t spot an answer. Specifically, I’m trying to figure out how to configure the sound that plays when my oncall shift starts and stops. I’ve looked in the main alert settings where you set high and low urgency alert sounds and haven’t found it. Right now, the sound that plays when I start a shift is a very soft bloop and i want to make that quite a bit more alarming, but I haven’t been able to find a place to set it.

pdagent urlopen error [SSL: CERTIFICATE_VERIFY_FAILED]

Hi team, I have a sensu server which has pager duty handler and integration is right. However pdagent can not send the events to Pager Duty and pdagent keep event on the queue and pending state , When I check debug logs It shows pdagent.sendevent urlopen error [SSL: CERTIFICATE_VERIFY_FAILED] _ssl.c:581 , I tested tcp connection to events api and shows open also tested TLS , It is good too , Could you help me for this issue ?
