Additional Responders Behavior

Hi! What is the expected paging behavior when you add additional responders to an incident?  My team tested adding additional responders to an incident and found that the additional responders kept getting paged after the incident was marked resolved, and they kept getting paged until they accepted the additional responders request. Is this the expected behavior?   My team is interested in paging additional responders until they accept the additional responders request (even if the page is acknowledged or resolved), but I want to get clarity on the expected behavior before we start relying on this feature.

Using a regex or wildcard when using API to search incidents, alerts or services?

We have a lot of services for our organisation. If I call the URL https://api.pagerduty.com/services?limit=100&time_zone=UTC then there are too many and the list is truncated. I have tried thishttps://api.pagerduty.com/services?limit=100&time_zone=UTC&name=*E*and thishttps://api.pagerduty.com/services?limit=100&time_zone=UTC&name=.*E.*but they doesn’t work.This seems like an obvious feature to have, but I do not see it in the reference guide, e.g https://developer.pagerduty.com/api-reference/e960cca205c0f-list-servicesis my only choice to iterate through all the pages and pass the output jq, then grep?

Java 11 to 17 upgrade

My Rundeck is upgraded to 5.10.  Running on RHEL 9OpenJDK 11.0.25 has a vulnerability and needs to be upgraded.  RHEL stopped support for 11 at .25 so upgraded to 17 and changed the default to 17 which Rundeck shows using 17.I removed OpenJDK 11 from the system but java-11-openjdk-headless remains.  When trying to remove that it wants to remove dependent package … Rundeck.This is a headless install… anyone know how to get Rundeck to move to Java-17-openjdk-headless so I can remove 11?

Managing PagerDuty Advance in Status Updates

We implemented PagerDuty Advance in our Slack environment.   It has been a great for our incident channels.   As a manager, the ability to get a quick summarization of an incident is great.    However one side-effect of turning it on, is that we are now getting a lot of noise to our Status/Alert channel.   When an alert is triggered, PagerDuty Advance is adding a bunch of new information into this Slack channel which is not needed within the Status channel.     Before PagerDuty Advance we would get the basic info to the channel (Alert name, Service, Meeting URL)After PagerDuty Advance we now get the above + “What Happened” (useless at time of alert for us) and “Suggested Investigation Path” (also not very helpful for us at the time of the alert)At times this extra information becomes very verbose and clogs up our Status channel.   But I haven’t figured out how to turn this off without turning off PagerDuty Advance.    Anyone have a solution?

Hi folks, if a Responder who was previously deemed not needed for an Active Incident is now needed to be re-engaged, how do you accomplish this?

Classic User oAuth not working with "write" scope

Hi there! We have an integration with pagerduty that uses Classic User oAuth. We currently pass the “read” scope. When I try to pass the “write” scope it doesn’t take it. I can create an app with Classic User oAuth manually in the UI but somehow not through the workflow. We use the github.com/PagerDuty/go-pagerduty library for this.It currently calls the following URL: https://app.pagerduty.com/oauth/authorize?client_id=XYZ&response_type=code&redirect_uri=https://abc.com/callback&state=ABC&access_type=offline&prompt=consent&scope=read  If I change it to the following URL it just shows User ID. I would expect it to show write scope in there.https://app.pagerduty.com/oauth/authorize?client_id=XYZ&response_type=code&redirect_uri=https://abc.com/callback&state=ABC&access_type=offline&prompt=consent&scope=writeI also tried using https://identity.pagerduty.com/oauth/authorize URL but no luck.

Pagerduty integration for ServiceNow - "PagerDuty REST failed to trigger an incident: Service not found"

I'm encountering an issue with the PagerDuty integration in ServiceNow and could use some help understanding the error and its causes.Context: In some cases, when a ServiceNow incident is created and we expect a linked PagerDuty ticket to be opened, the PagerDuty integration gives an error that appears in the work activity of the ServiceNow incident: "PagerDuty REST failed to trigger an incident: Service not found".In ServiceNow, teams (Assignment Groups) have associated Business Services where the team is listed as the Technical Support Group. These associated Business Services do not appear to be linked directly to PagerDuty and do not have corresponding PagerDuty services.It may be a coincidence, but it appears that the error occurs when a ServiceNow incident is created with a Business Service for which the Assignment Group is not the Technical Support Group in ServiceNow.Question: Can anyone explain what might be causing this error and how the flow and connections between ServiceNo

Getting illegitimate_requester_error When Updating Incident via API with Correct API Key and Headers

Hi PagerDuty Community,I'm currently working on integrating ServiceNow with PagerDuty using the REST API. While testing the incident update (status change to "acknowledged") via Postman, I'm encountering the following error response:My API details and headers are correct. free plan-oncall

hi, in the free plan i enabled international calls it allowed to get 100 notification/month, pagerduty says for alot of time that my request under review so my question is ?is international notifications included in the free plan or it’s normal that the request takes alot of time?

Mobile app notifications format

Hi everyone. I am a fresh user of PagerDuty and so far I tested it with a checkmk integration and installed the app on my iphone. While in the browser everthing is clean and good looking, the one thing that really annoys me and cannot understand the logic behind designing it this way is how the notifications appear on the phone. It’s like “ALRT #12 #4354 #353 #4335346 #222  #43454 on xxxxx”. How on earth would one know what is going on without actually opening the app?! I would like to see the actual host name and a small brief of the issue, not incident numbers. I tested other solutions similar to PagerDuty, like iLert or SIGNL4, and none have this issue, you can clearly see what the alert is actually about without opening the app itself.Is this by design or can it be changed somehow?

How to automate sending incident updates to a bridge chat. Specifically, I want to run a command on an incident bridge that sends all status updates, notes, and actions taken on the incident to a Microsoft Teams bridge chat. I want this automation to apply to all incident bridges.

Event orchestration rule - slack notification

Hi,We got a scenario where a PagerDuty incident shouldn’t be triggered but a slack notification for the event should be sent. In the service orchestration rule we have a option to pause notifications , suppress alert but nothing matches our scenario. Any thoughts or help on this will be much appreciated.Thanks.,

I am interested in a report or list of all of my incident resolution notes

I am interested in a report or list of all of my incident resolution notes, this will be used to train a new hire on the types of afterhours calls I get and how I resolved them so she can start taking call.  Is there anything available with the actual resolution notes on a list that I can pull (not ONE at a time, but like a report spreadsheet).  Any ideas or suggestions welcome.

Upgrade from JiraServer V3 to Jira Server V4

Hi everyone,I have a quick question that I couldn’t find in the community.In our company we used the Jira Server V3 extension, and now are planning to switch to the Jira Server V4 extension.Will we lose our current Jira configuration during the process ? How do we clean the old Jira version on Pager and Jira ? Currently we installed the two versions but only the old interface is accessible.

Enforce Custom Field on Resolution

Is there a way to enforce that a custom field is populated when resolving an incident?   Our current use case is to create a custom field for Categorization of the resolution.   However we don’t see anyway of enforcing that it gets updated.   Without enforcement then we are just running audit reports and chasing people down.   Not the best use of time.     If there was a way to enforce that the field gets updated, that would remove this concern.

I would like to create a rotation schedule that is only active on alternate weeks.Week 1 : Person 1Week 2 : InactiveWeek 3 : Person 2Week 4 : InactiveI can easily create gaps inside of a week using restrictions, so this would be easy to do:1st Half of Week 1 : Person 12nd Half of Week 1: Inactive1st Half of Week 2: Person 22nd Half of Week 2: InactiveBut I cant figure out Week On, Week Off. Is there a way other than restrictions I’m missing?(I realize I could add a dummy account to fill in for the inactive weeks, I would prefer not to do that)

Do I have any control at all over how email notifications sent by the events API display details?

I’m not talking about the email integration, I’m using the Events API with a global orchestration and I’m not using AI Ops.The email notifications sent are a problem. In the app the “details” json is nicely displayed, but in emails the entire details field is crammed together in one text string.Can I fix this? PD is sending html emails, why can’t it format the details field nice like in the app?I have users that want to use email as their notification channel without using the app. The details section in the emails is practically unreadable.I can’t find any settings or docs about making the details section in emails look better.

Implementing complete PD configuration via Terraform

In the configuration as code space, I’m building infra structure as code and configuration that will manage and control our config in PD (as much as possible).  The main driver is to manage the configuration of this critical piece of operations more securely and without the human-in-the-loop ClickOps via the PD portal.I’m running into trouble using the PagerDuty Terraform provider when you use it to create multiple  PD resources (users, services, schedules,etc) in bulk (i.e. using for-each in the terraform resource)We get failures back from the PD provider along the lines of:│ Error: Provider produced inconsistent result after apply││ When applying changes to│ pagerduty_user.service_users["<redacted>@<email>"], provider│ "provider[\"registry.terraform.io/pagerduty/pagerduty\"]" produced an│ unexpected new value: Root object was present, but now absent.││ This is a bug in the provider, which should be reported in the provider's│ own issue tracker.Question is - has anyone exp

Incident workflow to trigger servicenow incident creation

Hi Community, We aren’t on the Enterprise Plan so looking for alternates. The ServiceNow integration V8 is installed and webhooks for auto/manual sync are working.I am experimenting with the Incident Workflow actions to trigger using the simple webhook post action to create an incident in ServiceNow.   What we want to do is be selective about which incidents to send to ServiceNow and created an Incident Workflow to only trigger when a P1 or P2 incident is created in Pagerduty. I have tried to use the exposed API endpoint on servicenow from the pagerduty integration “/api/x_pd_integration/pagerduty2sn” to force the triggering but not yet getting a good response.  Has anyone tried something like this ? Regards,Aron Campbell
