Complete API implementation

It is common to discover that there are parameters on services and other resource types which are not properly exposed in the PagerDuty API and are only available in the UI. This request is to make the REST API a complete interface to PagerDuty configuration and for it to be a first-class part of PagerDuty, not an after-thought which is only partially implemented. A request was made to add a single field to the API almost 7 years ago and it was never done. That’s a very strange attitude to take to a service used by highly technical people. Trying to run pdagent on Nagios server running RHEL 9 system

Hi, I have installed the pdagent packages on a RHEL 9 system running Nagios. When attempting to run the agent /usr/share/pdagent-integrations/bin/pd-nagios. I get the following error: Traceback (most recent call last): File “/usr/share/pdagent-integrations/bin/pd-nagios”, line 188, in import pdagent.config ModuleNotFoundError: No module named ‘pdagent’ During handling of the above exception, another exception occurred: Traceback (most recent call last): File “/usr/share/pdagent-integrations/bin/pd-nagios”, line 194, in import pdagent.config ModuleNotFoundError: No module named ‘pdagent’ My system is running python3: Python 3.9.18 (main, Jan 4 2024, 00:00:00) [GCC 11.4.1 20230605 (Red Hat 11.4.1-2)] on linux within python when I list the modules i see that pdagent and pdagentd are present. The following packages were installed: pdagent-1.7.4-1.noarch pdagent-integrations-1.6.2-1.noarch Any ideas folks?

How many global event orchestrations can I have?

I’m not on the AI ops plan (and not interested in switching to it). How many global event orchestrations can I have? I’m thinking I might want 15 or 20 or maybe more. I see nothing in the docs regarding the max number of allowed global event orchestrations. I need to know this before I start building out my config. How many can I have? Is there a hard limit?

Stop the Slackbot from mentioning me

If you Awknowledge or Resolve an incident the Slackbot adds PagerDuty Username @slack-name to the Slack notification, but why tag me, the PD username I get? It seems very noisy and distracting If I’ve closed an incident I don’t need a Slack mention telling me so, I know I’ve done so, and everyone else can tell who it was by the PagerDuty Username

PD.fail and PD.assertType error message

This is possibly a really silly question, but I am writing a custom app, on these 2 functions there is a parameter for an error message, but where is that surfaced? I have added PD.fail("Foo") to the top of my transformer and called the endpoint, I still get a success response, although of course no incident is created as it doesn’t get to the PD.emitEventsV2 I tried searching here and was surprised not to fail anything

Retrigger resolved incidents by prometheus alertmanager

Hello I have an integration with alertmanager. All works and critical alerts in alertmanager create incidents in PD. But once incident in PD is resolved manually - even if alertmanager still send alerts - PD doesn;t open new incident. Cause from PD point of view - it already resolved. Is ther any way to override this behavior? SO that even if someone resolved incident in PD - it still will be reopened after some time? Thanks

How do i get mutile team members in a schedule at a given time. Ex: Monday - Friday 8:30AM - 5:30PM I need Bob, Sarah, Jim, Bayley Tuesday - Friday 8:30AM - 5:30PM I need Bob, Sarah, Jim, Bayley, Fred ( Fred comes in on Tuesday ) Saturday - Sunday Fred

Returning the change integration key for a service via an API call

Becasue of the number of services we have, we are looking at a way of creating a dynamic method of creating change events from our release tool, and this is the order of events we want to happen: Identify the name of the service that is being deployed Execute a get API call to retrieve the change integration key for that service. Create the POST API call to post the change event to PagerDuty the first is within our hands, and the last is a standard API call using the events API, but number 2 is the difficult one right now… any help or advice is very gratefully received - thanks

Request: Add more types to Team view - including Business Services, Orchestrations, Rulesets

Hi all! Our CSM is going to submit this request also, but here’s my post on it… In a Team view along the top there are currently only: Users Schedules Escalation Polices Services Subscriptions It would be a huge help for us to also have available there: Business Services Event Orchestrations Event Rulesets …and any/all other types of “things” which are owned by a specific Team. We tell our users that the Team page is a great starting point for any work in PD other than responding to Incidents, so adding all those remaining Team-owned types would be a big help. Thanks!

Triggered by field on slack notification

In slack notification created due to incidents from things like Cloudwatch and Prometheus Alert Manager there is a Triggered by field which links through to the source, how do I set this on notifications generated by the Events API? I have set a link in links but that doesn’t show and I can’t find any additional information on this

Page two schedules in parallel

I am trying to page two schedules (a leadership and eng rotation in parallel). I can have my escalation policy page both, however, once one awk the page the other stops being paged (e.g., if the leadership member answers after 1 minute the eng will never be paged on their secondary device). Any ideas about how to make this behavior happen? Thanks!

Incident Workflows to use custom responder groups

Have Incident Workflows to use custom groups/teams for specific workflow. To simplify assigning assigning large groups automatically to workflows instead of individual responders. I have organization that has multiple response teams and individuals with specific roles and tasks. And with some team members that are junior analysts who should not be called during the night but during the day.

PagerDuty App for Splunk, Custom Fields Not Populating

Hi, I am new to PagerDuty so hoping the following question makes sense. I have a Splunk alert triggering an incident in PagerDuty using the PagerDuty App for Splunk. PagerDuty correctly sends notifications by email, SMS, and phone call upon recieving those messages from Splunk. Additionally, I am sending a custom JSON payload using the Custom Details section in the Splunk App. These Custom Details are recieved correctly in the incident message but the Custom Details are not used by PagerDuty to populate the corresponding Custom Fields. Following is the Custom Details portion of the incident message received from Splunk "custom_details": { "display_text": "Sample display text.", "severity": "CRITICAL", "source": "Sample source", "summary": "Sample summary." } There also exists custom text fields defined in PagerDuty that correspond to each of these fields, named: display_text, severity, source, and summary. Rundeck - winrm - job ok on local server but ko when launched via rundeck

Hi, I have a python script that opens Excel files to update them with the Xlsx.Workbooks.Open command. When I run the script locally on the server with the “rundeck” account, the script works correctly. When I run it via rundeck and pywinrm using the same user “rundeck” the Xlsx.Workbooks.Open command is in error : error \\data\\excel\\Suivi_sav.xlsx\\xa0". Several reasons are possible\\xa0:\\n\\n• The file name or path does not exist. \\n• This file is currently used by another program.\\n• The workbook you are trying to save has the same name as a currently open workbook.", ‘xlmain11.chm’, 0, -2146827284), None). I have the impression that when I launch via rundeck - pywinrm the user “rundeck” does not have the same rights as when I launch locally while being connected with the user “rundeck” Do you have any idea about this problem? Set priority for incidents created using events API v2

Hello, Looks like we don’t have support to assign priorities for incidents created using events API v2. Since the events API is asynchronous, the method of updating priority using update incident API soon after calling events API doesn’t work! (Since the incident wouldn’t have been created by then!) On the other hand, Create incident API supports priority assignment, but doesn’t support JSON objects in the custom details section. However we need both priority and JSON object support. Is there any workaround for this? If not, can we please consider this as a feature request?

Hi there, I am trying to create a new extension using the rest api v2 using POST https://api.pagerduty.com/extensions. It returns a 404 { “error”: { “message”: “Not Found”, “code”: 2100 } } Has anyone faced anything similar? Thanks Aparna

Push notifications on multiple devices

I registered two phones. I’m only getting push notifications on the one I registered last. On my profile page, Notification Rules tab, it doesn’t let me add my other phone. I need to be able to receive pages on multiple devices.

Unable to create incidents manually - PagerDuty support not responding

When I try to create a manual incident via the PagerDuty UI I’m getting the message: “”" The coordinated_responding account ability is required to access conference bridge details “”" Despite the fact that setting a conference bridge is marked as optional (in fact setting a conference bridge doesn’t help here). This means I can’t page people. This seems pretty core to PagerDuty’s purpose? More worryingly I opened a support ticket on Friday, and have received no response yet. What are people’s experience of PagerDuty’s (lack?) of support?

Finding what teams do not have an escalation policy

Hi there! How can I find out what teams do not have an escalation policy easily, other than having to go through one by one and check? We have 1 person who should be creating an escalation policy for every team, however there are others who have access to create Teams and we want to ensure they are setup correctly. Find out User's base role from Pagerduty API

Hi, I am trying to get the user’s base role from PD API but so far didn’t find any API for this. All I can find is the role within a team but I need Base Role as well. Can you please add this feature or point me in the right direction if this is already available? Thanks

Zendesk Ticket for Specific Groups

I’ve configure the PagerDuty/Zendesk integration and PD incidents are creating Zendesk tickets. My problem is I can’t figure out how to route these tickets to specific groups in Zendesk. Does anyone have any advice?
