Create a Jira Cloud issue as a Workflow Action is now Generally Available

Enterprise Incident Management users now have exclusive access to conditionally create a Jira Cloud issue through Incident Workflows, extending the application’s functionality beyond manual and automatic ticket creation. Ben Hutchison (@aldaviva), a Staff Engineer who has worked at companies including KeepAndShare, Cisco, BlueJeans, and Verizon, loves connecting devices to create integrated systems. He even built a system to receive automatic push notifications with reminders when his laundry is done using PagerDuty’s Event API. New Workflow Integrations: Datadog, Azure Function, and Lambda Function actions

Workflow Integrations provide a way to connect Incident Workflows with tools outside of PagerDuty’s Operations Cloud. They can be configured and managed under Integrations > Workflow Integrations. At launch, they enable invoking a Webhook and grabbing monitor status or a snapshot from Datadog for Business/DigOps/EIM. REST API Rate Limiting Refresh Best Practices 💪

We are rolling out some updates to PagerDuty’s REST API rate limits, including: A refreshed rate limiting system to more consistently and accurately enforce REST API rate limits New response headers within our REST APIs so that customers can programmatically control the request load sent to PagerDuty Four dimensions used to enforce the rate limit Best practices 💪 Ensure your application is ready to handle being rate limited Update your application to slow down the rate of requests after receiving a 429 response code. For fine-grained control your application can make use of the ratelimit-reset header to wait the appropriate number of seconds before retrying. Avoid hitting rate limits These guidelines will help your application avoid hitting rate limits: Make requests serially for a given authentication token. Avoid excessive polling for changes whenever possible. Make use of available Webhooks to receive push updates to data. One “bot user” per application deployment

You can now use the Escalation Policies API to apply Round Robin to new and existing Escalation Policies via Terraform and directly through the API (if you rely on automation, you’ll be able to use this functionality for your workflows). Learn more in the API documentation
