We're kicking off 2025 with some exciting updates to help you streamline your operations and enhance your incident management capabilities. 📢To our Python-using PagerDuty community: we are pleased to announce that we have acquired the “pagerduty” package name, and have migrated pdpyras to pagerduty! All significant changes and new features going forward will be added to the new library. Bug reports and enhancement requests can be submitted to the new GitHub repository: PagerDuty/python-pagerduty. This change is being implemented in order to make it easier for users to find our #1 library for Python, but also to consolidate a series of class name changes. These changes aim to improve usability in the long term by establishing a clearer relationship between API client classes and the public HTTPS APIs of PagerDuty that they are designed to access. To switch over to using the new library in existing projects, refer to the PDPYRAS Migration Guide. In the next patch release of pdpyras, we will include a deprecation warning that cites the new client as its replacement. Hi all, especially Python users,Given the nature of PagerDuty the product and its APIs, some basic use cases are sufficiently useful and near ubiquitous, making them too important to not implement. For these use cases I am considering breaking a convention of “not making an API for the API”.*A few features in this category that I’ve been considering:Fetch incident notes Create overrides, for all on-call shifts of a given user and time period to another user (or round-robin the shifts among a group of user IDs) Fetch all historical records from all time (i.e. log entries), using a shifting time window to avoid hitting the pagination limit Add abstraction for the bespoke pagination styles of: POST /analytics/raw/incidents GET /alert_grouping_settings Which of these do you think would be the most useful and save the most time? What more general automation use cases do you believe are worth building an opinionated method into an API client that in this area has previously been un-opiniona
