Hello folks,

I would like to clarify whether I can trigger alerts by sending an email to PagerDuty or by calling support line. Does anybody know how can I do it? I am on a free plan.

Thank you in Advance for your answers,

Hi @ilias10

How are you doing today?

Yes, you can trigger incidents in PagerDuty by sending an email, even on the free plan. Here’s how:

  1. Go to the service you want to trigger incidents for.
  2. Click "Add Integration" and choose "Email".
  3. PagerDuty will give you a unique email address, and any email sent to this address will trigger an incident.

Unfortunately, triggering incidents by calling a phone number isn’t currently supported. Phone and SMS are used for notifications, not for creating new incidents.

Here’s the documentation on email integrations that you can use as a guide to set it up.

It would be cool to understand your use case for phone-based incident creation if you’re willing to share!

Let me know if you need any additional help, and have a nice day!

Thank you so much @lupimiguel. You too have a great rest of your day. Appreciated your help.
