I am needing to create a DuPont schedule in PagerDuty and having a hard time.  Has anyone ever created a true DuPont schedule that can help?

Hi @Tray B,

You can create a DuPont schedule in PagerDuty, but it takes a bit of manual setup using schedule layers and time restrictions. Each team in the DuPont cycle should be a separate layer, with custom shift lengths and restrictions to match the day/night and off-day pattern. I suggest you go through the Schedule Basics page to help you setup. There’s also a great Schedule Examples page that shows how to build complex rotations, and while there’s no DuPont template, you can adapt the “Complex Irregular Schedules” example to fit your needs.

My advice: map out your cycle in a spreadsheet first, then build each team as a layer in PagerDuty, using restrictions for day/night and off days. Use the “Final Schedule” preview to check your work. If you need more help, PagerDuty Support is awesome at reviewing custom schedules!

Good luck and make sure to share the results of setting up a DuPont schedule in this topic once you accomplish it.

Hi, Tray!

You can enroll in the Schedules & Overrides course if you’d like to deep-dive into it.

Hope it helps!
