We’d like to see the metrics on the Dashboard (under the Over Time section) filtered by Business Services.
Some of our business services have more than fifty technical services so it is impossible for the management teams to use it.
On the Dashboard it should also provide a link to the Insights/(Business Impact), just like all the other sections do.

Hi @John Chen, how are you doing today? Thanks for sharing your feedback and use cases. I’m going to provide a reply for each use case separately, so we can work on possible solutions and workarounds.

Filtering Dashboard Metrics by Business Services:
At the moment, the main Dashboard’s "Over Time" metrics can’t be directly filtered by Business Service, especially when you have a large number of technical services under each business service. I totally get how this makes things tricky for management teams.

Workarounds you might find helpful:

  • In the Service Directory, you can view incidents and some metrics by Business Service, though it’s not as visual as the main dashboard.
  • If you have access to Analytics & Reporting, you can build custom reports filtered by Business Service, which might help surface the high-level data your management needs.
  • For more advanced needs, you can use the PagerDuty API to export data and build your own dashboards in tools like Tableau or Power BI.

Regarding the link to Insights/Business Impact:

The Dashboard doesn’t provide a direct link to the Insights/Business Impact page like some other sections do. I recommend bookmarking that page for now.

If you’d like, you can also submit this as a feature request through the PagerDuty support portal or directly through your account manager using this topic as a reference, as if there’s a strong business need for your organization, this tends to gain more traction! Also, I’ll make sure to pass your feedback along to the team.

Let me know if I can help with anything else, and have a nice day!
