Hey everyone,

We're sponsoring Agents Day in Lisbon on May 1st and bringing a $1,000 bounty challenge for developers building AI agents with intelligent incident management.

The Challenge

Build an AI agent that integrates with PagerDuty to enhance your project with intelligent incident management, automated responses, or proactive system monitoring.

We want to see creative integrations that showcase PagerDuty's capabilities – AI agents that monitor, respond to, or prevent incidents, and projects that demonstrate real-world use cases (even if simplified for the hackathon).

Some ideas to get you started:

  • A chatbot that queries PagerDuty for incident status and resolves issues via Slack
  • A self-healing application that uses PagerDuty to diagnose and fix common problems autonomously
  • A tipping agent for open source contributors who resolve incidents detected by PagerDuty
  • Agentic alerting that reduces alert fatigue and aligns PagerDuty alerts with data insights from user's wearable devices

PagerDuty MCP Server

The PagerDuty Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server is an open standard that enables AI assistants to interact securely with your PagerDuty account. This integration allows AI tools to retrieve incident data, manage services, and update on-call schedules on your behalf.

Meet your mentor: Tiago Barbosa

Tiago Barbosa, Engineering Manager at PagerDuty, will be on-site throughout the hackathon to help you get set up, troubleshoot integrations, brainstorm ideas, and provide real-time feedback on your implementation. Whether you're new to PagerDuty or an experienced builder, grab him for a quick chat or technical deep-dive.

Resources

We'll provide you with a fully configured PagerDuty account with all necessary features enabled. Find Tiago on-site to get started.

Documentation and resources:

Submission Requirements

  1. Working integration with PagerDuty (demo-ready)
  2. Brief description of your project and how PagerDuty enhances it (2-3 paragraphs)
  3. Demo video showing the integration in action (up to 3 minutes)
  4. GitHub repository with code and setup instructions

Prizes

Two prizes of $500 each (Amazon or Apple gift certificate, winner's choice):

  • Technical Excellence: Best technical integration with PagerDuty
  • Most Impactful: Most creative or impactful use case

Evaluation Criteria

  1. Creativity & Impact – How interesting or impactful is your use case? Does it solve a real problem or showcase PagerDuty in a novel way?
  2. Technical Integration – How well did you integrate PagerDuty? Is the implementation functional and well-executed?
  3. Real-World Applicability – Could this be used in production? Does it demonstrate practical value for startups, developers, or operations teams?
