Adding authentication to Pagerduty Webhooks

Hi all,

We are trying to use the custom actions/webhooks to propagate the PD incidents into our workflow.

Our endpoints are protected with either Basic Auth or Bearer Tokens. However I am unable to find a way that the PD webhooks or custom actions can include any credentials like tokens. Is there any workaround or solution already proposed for this before trying to come up with our own?

Thanks in advance!

Dani

Currently, the only thing we can recommend would be to use HTTPS and hard to guess credentials. I highly recommend you take a read of our Webhook Developer Docs for more information on webhooks and their configuration.

Thanks @tom. I missed this documentation.

For reference this is the suggested approach: https://v2.developer.pagerduty.com/docs/webhook-behavior#security

Where uses URL-based HTTP Basic Auth:

https://username:password@app.acmemonitoring.com
