Enhancing PagerDuty Apple Watch app functionality

Is there any plans to add ability to View/Snooze/Resolve incidents and maybe even switch account and view incident details on PagerDuty Apple Watch app?

Currently the app is very limited on Apple Watch as there is nothing you can really do other than view On Call schedule.

If theres plans to make it more feature rich I’m willing to participate in beta testing through Apple TestFlight.

We have no betas/early access currently planned, but please reach out to us at support@pagerduty.com so we can gather more information about your feature requests and pass them onto our Product team!

Would be great to get feedback from Mobile Devs if any of his could be feasible in the future.

Hi Jussi,

Sure thing, we’ll need to first lodge a feature request to involve the Mobile Devs and get an assessment on the feasibility of adding this.

 I’m Chandler, the product manager for mobile at PagerDuty.
We do not currently have plans to improve the functionality of the Apple Watch app. However, we’re always collecting feedback and requests. Thanks for letting us know that it would be useful to view, and act on incidents from the watch. These were added as feature requests for our mobile team to consider as we continue improving the apps.

Thanks,
Chandler

What is the list of features of the app for apple watch? Where is the feature list published?
More specifically - will it trigger an alert (e.g. push notification) on my watch if there’s an incident i need to take care of?
Thank you.

Hi Yair,

At this time, the PagerDuty app for Apple Watch is limited to viewing/acknowledging incidents that come in, as well as viewing your on-call shifts. There is no functionality to interact with incidents from the watch directly, other than acknowledging. We do not currently have a feature list published anywhere.

But yes, as long you are wearing the watch, your phone is locked, and notifications are turned on for both the PagerDuty app and the Apple Watch app, then you will be notified for an incident just as you would on your phone.

Old thread but I can’t seem to find any official documentation on the Apple Watch functionality.

I don’t see an option to ack an incident in the Apple Watch. I get the notification as expected, but the only available option is “Dismiss”, and when I open the PD app on the Watch, all I see are the on-call shift.

Has the Watch app lost the ack incidents since this was last discussed?

Thanks

Hi all !

It’s been a while since this thread started, so I’m taking some time to create my own Apple Watch app. Feel free to take a look, it should be available soon.

Unsure if someone wants to send all their availability data to some random dev on forums… Nice try though

PagerDuty has a program to verify third parties and to ensure your data is kept safe.

Of course, you are not advised to send your data to any third parties that you do not trust (PagerDuty makes that obvious on the OAuth process).
