How to set maintenance window for a specific component in a Service

(Devops Tinklabs) #1

I know how to set a maintenance window for a Service, but how can I set a maintenance window for a specific class or component of a Service? Since we will have a maintenance for this specific component tonight and don’t want to ignore all the alert for this service.

Hello,

There isn’t the concept of a class or component of a service in PagerDuty, however you could likely set up some ways to filter or suppress alerts for the specific component if you’d like to have the service remain enabled and be notified of all other events coming into this service’s integrations.

If this service is being sent alerts at an email integration, you can create an email filter to filter out any emails that mention the component you’d like to ignore in the body or subject.

If this service is being sent API events about this component, you can create an Event Rules to suppress any events that have this component in a field.

You would have to set these up though just before you’d like to have these components not trigger incidents any notify you.
