How to integrate JIRA Service Desk with webhooks

While we’re working on full compatibility with Service Desk, you can get the webhooks integration to work properly with some adjustments. YMMV, as this is not currently a supported integration, but if you’d like to give it a try, here’s what to do:

  1. Modify your workflows so that incidents are created with their status set to “New”, and to “Done” when they are completed.
  2. Test your setup by setting the webhook URL to a new page, and triggering a test incident.
  3. Take a close look at the JSON object sent from JIRA Service Desk. You’re looking to make sure that all of the following fields are included in the JSON:
  • issuetype
  • status
  • priority
  • assignee
  • description

The current JIRA webhooks integration was developed and tested around JIRA Software, but full, supported compatibility with JIRA Service Desk isn’t too far off.
