What version of Webhook does V1 Slack extension use?

The Slack Integration guide explicitly says that V2 Slack extension uses V2 Webhook Extension. But it doesn’t seem to mention what powers V1 Slack extensions.

Hi Yixuan. The first Slack v2 integration used Webhooks v2. The new Slack v2 Next Generation integration uses Webhooks v3.

The Slack v1 integration also used Webhooks v2, but that integration is no longer supported as of November 2021.

You can migrate any Slack v1 integrations to the new version

If you have other older extensions using the old webhooks they can be migrated as well: https://support.pagerduty.com/docs/webhooks#migrating-from-v1v2-generic-extensions-to-v3-webhook-subscriptions

Hi @mandi.walls,

So when V1 Webhook loses functionality on 10/31/2022, existing V1 Slack extensions will not be affected and continue to work?

Yixuan

The v1 Slack extension was EOL’d on its own schedule. That component was disabled in November of last year. If you have an integration still configured for Slack v1, it should be showing up in your account as disabled.

So if you have a working Slack integration, it shouldn’t be earlier than the V2 integration, and should be fairly easy to migrate to v2 Next Gen based on the docs.
