connectivity check from Icinga1

(Glyn Davies) #1

Hey Folks,

I was wondering if there is any way to perform a some kind of check between the Icinga and Pageduty for the purposes of confirming that configuration and access for the Icinga server has not been broken by tasks performed using orchestration tools.

Ideally it would be a an interaction that did not result in an alert being generated in Pagerduty.

You can search syslog to ensure that the cron job for is running and also view any error messages from the requests sent to PagerDuty.

grep pagerduty_icinga /var/log/syslog

If any environment variables have been changed and the script is not able to pull these, you’ll see an error message. If the request was successfully sent to PagerDuty, you’ll see the message ACCEPTED by the PagerDuty server.

Let me know if that works for you.
