When an incident is created before a status update can be placed the Status Dashboard is showing “this incident has no updates”. Is there a way that I can customize that message to something other than that?
That message can’t be customized at this time, but we would be happy to take that as a feature request!

What you could do instead would be to set up a Response Play so that a Status Update is published automatically when an Incident is created so that that message never displays. You can read more about that here:
