how does the transient alert-setting work?

hello,
How I understood it was that pagerduty would pause the incident-creation & notification for incoming alerts for x minutes and wait for it to be auto-resolved. And only in case it isn’t resolved within the x-minutes create an incident.
I’ve done some tests (setting = 10 minutes) and the incidents are created immediately when the alert arrived, executing workflows and escalation policies.
Am I missing another setting that should be set?
Thanks in advance

Hi Elke. It takes a while for the machine learning to pick up that the alert is really transient. I don’t know exactly how long it takes to train it; there’s some mention of it in the docs:

You can also set up an Event Orchestration to pause alerts explicitly, either all the alerts to the service or just some that match certain conditions. More on that in this doc:
