Determine if PagerDuty is accepting TLS encrypted emails

PagerDuty email servers are configured to accept TLS protected SMTP sessions. Simply configure your outbound mail servers to use TLS opportunistically, and you should be all set. If you’d like to check that emails sent to PagerDuty are actually encrypted:

  1. Open an incident and click View Message:

  2. Click View Raw Message:

  3. If the message is encrypted, the last hop listed in the receive headers will mention a TLS-enabled connection:
